On 29th and 30th January 2017 two days
training programme was organized for all the local leaders at
Vimukti premises. Nearly 66 leaders from 20 villages were present
for this training. The aim of this programme was to introduce them
the various Govt. schemes like Access to educational Scholarship
through Scheduled Caste sub Plan (SCSP plan-SCP) and the Tribal Sub
plan (TSP) Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) etc; were explained
by the resource person in detailed way an in simple language.
He explained the nature of each scheme, its provisions, how to tap
these schemes and the redress mechanism of these schemes. The
training program was an eye opener for many village leaders. The
participants expressed that they were ignorant about many of these
schemes and they promised that they would cooperate with the
campaign and fight for justice from the government machinery. The
Vimukti staff also prepared an action plan for three months.
Additionally relevant input sessions were conducted on soft skills
such as communication, motivation, teamwork and improving
self-confidence techniques were thought. Participants were frank
enough to speak and share so that they could provide and receive
opinions of others and give feedback constructively. Through the
process, the trainers used the interactive/participatory teaching
method rather than just giving lecture to stimulate the learning
environment more participatory and active. This approach also
included small group and plenary discussions, pair work, stress
lease exercises, energizing games etc.
