with the collaboration of ChildFund India has organized sponsor day
program at Subrahmanya Sthanika Sabha Bhavana, Laila, Belthangady on
12/10/2016. 200 children participated in the program. The program
commenced with the prayer song of Manasa and group. Fr. Francis
Assis Edwin Monis, The Chief Functionary of CKSK inaugurated the
program by lightening the lamp.
Mr. Francis Danthy, The Project Manager of ChildFund project in his
introductory speech said, “as we know our sponsors are from
different part of the world are very generous and they do sacrifice
their life to improve the living condition of our children by saving
their part of income. Majority of them are from economically
backward families and doing jobs in hotels, shops etc and some are
working as taxi drivers, cleaners and housekeepers etc. So we should
always remain thankful to them and should utilize the opportunity in
better way”.
Fr. Francis Assis Edwin Monis, in his inaugural speech opinioned
that every child should learn to give value for time and money the
sponsors spend on each child and always remain thankful to their
sponsors who are selflessly trying to give better education. Today
is the right time to remember them and to thank them for all their
support and prayers.
Ms. Thulacy, Malebettu shared her experiences about the sponsorship
program and said, “ I am very proud of my sponsors who supported me
since 16 years and now I am in 2nd year degree at Punjalkatte and
what I am now it is only because of the effort of my sponsors. I and
my family will remain ever grateful to them”.
Fr. Rohan Lobo, Assistant Director of CKSK presided over the program
and in his presidential speech said, “Today human beings are living
in modern world and nobody has sufficient time to spend with other
persons/families. Therefore the social values have come down and it
is affecting the relationships. But our sponsors from different part
of the world are saving their time as well as money to help us
although we all are strangers to them. So today we all should
remember them and should pray for them and for their families”.
Mrs. Hilda Pinto, Sponsor Relation Coordinator of ChildFund project
said in her sharing, “CKSK has collaborated with ChildFund India
since 2000. As we know today we have some children among us who were
enrolled in the year 2000 and still continue in the sponsorship
program. So we always remember the benefits we got from our sponsors
and should try to extend our help to our neighbors. ChildFund is
organizing many programs for all of us. Coordinator encouraged the
participants to increase their participation.
On the special occasion variety of games were conducted. Different
cultural programs were given by the youths. Mementoes were
distributed to all participants as a token of love and
participation.
The program came to an end at 1.30 pm. Ms. Manisha Belalu welcomed
the gathering, Ms. Hemalatha Gerukatte, thanked and Ms. Vinitha
D’souza Kalmanja was the MC of the program. Mr. Sunil livelihood
Coordinator facilitated the cultural session.
