Health check-up camp for sponsor children:
On 4th September 2016, a health
check-up camp was organized for all the sponsored children at
Vimukti premises. Our sponsored children who are unaware of the
basic knowledge about health and hygiene were gathered in the camp.
Mrs. Shantha, the taluka health officer a well known and experienced
in her profession, explained at length about the cleanliness of
oneself and keeping the surroundings clean and to remain always
healthy. Further she gave an eye-opening session on consuming
nutritious and hygienic food. Around 45 enrolled children’s general
health check-ups were conducted by the Doctor. Especially blood
counting and grouping, reference to hospitals, medicines were given
to enrolled children. Every child’s height and weight was recorded
in the individual children file and later cards were distributed.
Among 45 children, 7 of iron deficiency, 12 de-worming, 5 of skin
infection, 3 have optical problems, 3 of skin problems and 2 have
fever, and 3 of dental and remaining children were found healthy and
in normal condition.
Health recorder information file has been made for each child for
further reference and for follow-ups, and if necessary refer the
child to other doctors for treatment. Even some Sponsored children
parents too underwent this health check-up. Soon after Children
health check-up,
The main objectives of health camp are:-
-
To
assess normal development of the child.
-
To
keep the track of immunization schedule.
-
Early
detection of disease/abnormalities, which sort of sickness and
when started, whether treated in time etc., thus allows the
child to lead a normal life in near future.
-
This
preventive check-up data becomes the baseline for future
follow-up.
-
Recent studies brought to the notice that more than 80% of
parents do not provide for preventive health check-up of their
children for reasons such as lack of awareness, time
constraints, etc.
-
After
medical check-up, we provide descriptive report for individual
sponsored family. This helps parents in understanding about
their children’s health.
-
We
keep electronic records to maintain for years for the progress
of each sponsored child.
-
To
have follow-up visits with parents to ensure that required steps
to be taken to ensure that child remains healthy.
-
Providing reminders to parents about immunization schedule and
other health check-ups of their children.
-
Inculcating the habit of health monitoring in children and
parents to take well care of their health and hygiene.
