Vimukti Pothnal
organized a one-day training for community leaders of Uttakanur
Panchayat to strengthen their involvement in government school
development. Leading the session, Vimukti staff member Mr. Charlie
emphasized that education is a social process, and community
participation is essential for the success of the education system.
For years, Vimukti has been working on children's education and
rights across six villages. The training focused on key issues such
as access to clean drinking water, functional toilets,
infrastructure repair, and preventing school dropouts. Ms. Jessintha
highlighted the responsibility of every parent to ensure their
children receive quality education and make use of available
government facilities. Local leader Mr. Mariyappa expressed full
support for the campaign, reaffirming the community’s commitment.
Over 38 community leaders, including Rayappa, Eeshamma, Sangayya
Swamy, Mariyamma, Sanjeevamma, Vasanth, Budepa, Amaresh, Hanumanth,
and Balaswamy, actively participated in the training.
