On November 10th
2024, Vimukti Centre hosted a dynamic Children’s Rights Awareness
Camp, designed to educate and empower children about their
fundamental rights as outlined in the UN Convention on the Rights of
the Child. This engaging two-day event provided a vibrant platform
for children to understand their rights and learn how to voice their
opinions confidently. The camp objectives are Raising awareness
about children's rights Empowering children through self-expression
and critical thinking. Promoting teamwork through collaborative
activities. Encouraging reflection on community issues. Throughout
the camp, children participated in interactive discussions, creative
expression activities, and group exercises, all aimed at deepening
their understanding of their rights. The highlight of the camp was
the enthusiasm displayed by the participants. One child shared, “I
never knew I had the right to speak up. Now I feel stronger and
ready to share my ideas!” The camp successfully achieved its
objectives, with 76 children attending and engaging in meaningful
discussions. It was an inspiring event that not only educated but
also motivated the children to stand up for their rights and the
rights of their peers. The experience left a lasting impact,
empowering them to become confident advocates for change.
