Training on Constitution of India: Vimukti Pothnal

An informational training for a day was organized for the unorganized youth of surrounding villages of Pothnal by Vimukti Charitable Trust ® Pothnal on 4th of March 2023. In the introductory talk the director of Vimukti Charitable Trust, Pothnal Fr. Sathish Fernandes spoke about endangering situation of our Constitution. He said that the equality, fraternity, freedom is delivered by the Constitution which is in threat because of the stereotyped and closed mindset of the few people. The protection of our Constitution is the right of all of us. We need to build up our lives that the values laid down by our Constitution, he said. The Spokesperson of the Training Mr. J. Sharanappa, Ballatagi who stated that before the drafting of the Indian Constitution there were lot of discrimination about the religion and sects and casteism was very rampant. The life of the common people was in danger. The human being was not considering human being as human person, they were acting like wild beasts. It was the great reformist, who understand depth of human values which everyone needs to follow in their life. Human person be respected as human. He dreamed off rooting out from the society the social evils like casteism, fundamentalism, discrimination based on caste, creed, religion, language and so on, everyone must enjoy the constitutional freedom to grow holistically and he became the responsible person to draft the Indian Constitution. He also expressed his feelings that we have completed about 75 years of enjoying the Independence of India, yet presently the high-class people want to change the Constitution of India which will endanger our freedom and equality. He said that the youth must be motivated to have a collective stand to protect Our Indian Constitution. Hundred two participants actively participated benefited from this training.
