A day Training for Rakshaks of Safe Village Programme on Human

Human Trafficking is modern day slavery. In order to pass a strong
awareness on Rakshaks, Vimukti Charitable Trust, Pothnal in
collaboration with My Choice Foundation, RED ALERT Hydarbad
organized one day Training session for all the Rakshak at Vimukti
premises on 24 June, 2018. As inaugurated and being the chief guest
Rev. Fr. Sathish Fernandes gave a detailed progress of this Safe
Village Programme in the different villages for past two years in
and around Manvi Taluk. He explained the purpose and motive of this
village-building programme. He added that the beneficiaries of this
programme are children, women and villagers. 8000 women have been
greatly benefitted from this programme.
The spokes-person of the programme Mr. Sudarshan, coordinator of
Child Line,Raichur district briefed the gathering about the POCSO
Act , Children Rights and various punishments by law in mishandling
the children. The organizer and the state coordinator of Safe
Village Programme Mr. Munichaudappa, on his speech enlightened that
through this programme every people will be awake against all sort
of social evils. The mothers will gain knowledge on how to bring up
the children in a responsible manner, what is the role of a father
in a family, how children must live. He boosted the Rakshaks that in
each village they have the duty to curb and notify child marriages,
child-labour, the atrocities and abuses on women, the trafficking
for sexual and other reasons. By a passing of small message would be
a great motto of concern from the part of all Rakshaks. The Rakshaks
need to work towards the protection of women and children in their
respective villages. All have to join their hands to promote safety
of the women and children. He also urged everyone to make the best

Along with the dignitaries the programme witnessed many other
prominent persons like the manager of the Rakshaks Mr. MahmadNazim,
assistant manager, Mr. Mangalesh, the staff members of Vimukti
Charitable Trust, Miss Mamatha, Jecintha, Nagarathna, the director
of Ashirwad Trust, Mr. Raghavendra and 32 Rakshaks. Mr. Charli,
Udbal hosted vote of thanks towards the end of a day’s programme.
