Fr. Vinod Mascarenhas the director of Vimukti social work centre gave an introductory speech and told that the whole India has been getting corrupted and the whole government as well as administrative system where we can find the corrupt nature. It is difficult to deal with the Government officers during our need. Though the Government officers are appointed to render service for the people, they show indifference by supporting politicians and their petty interest and thus neglect the poor who approach them for their dire need. They are so aggressive that even we do not feel like talking with some of them. However in this corrupt system we can find some good hearted people who render service without any injustice to the society. There is none to recognize their good will and efforts. They might not have done at national or international level to get name and fame but with true honest mind they have helped the people in their own respective fields. The Organization selected 17 people from Belthangady Taluk from the various fields who excelled in their service and helped in their own way to uplift the society as a whole. The Director appealed to the gathering to emulate these good hearts and to join them to build a just society.

Mr. S.G. Bhat, Mr. Seviour Palely and Maulana Zameer Sahadi Val Fazil also spoke at his occasion and conveyed the message to the public to be united in every way. They said that every religion teaches to do good and love thy neighbor. But we never do what the religion says instead according to our selfish nature we behave in the name of religion and create division in the society. They said to join hands with Vimukti Social work centre and to get whatever is possible from it and to give whatever is possible for it and likewise to work for the growth of society.

The president of the progrmme spoke at this occasion and said that “Vimukti” works for the development of the poor segments of Belthangady Taluk and congratulated all the staff for their selfless service to society. He is very much taken up by the humane service that Vimukti renders to the poor of the poorest. There should not be any discrimination on caste basis, there is no cast for development and that each one has to understand and work for the growth of the society. The communalism is spoiling the society but it should not be allowed to continue instead we must work for unity and bring up the society in every way.
