Providing educational Aids to
disadvantaged school going children:
A writer by name Albert Pine says something beautiful, “Whatever we
do for ourselves dies with us, what we do for others and the world
remains and is immortal.” Vimukti Charitable Trust®, Pothnal with
the collaboration Rev. Fr. Jossy Fernandes OFM Cap organized program
on distribution of educational kit to 132 economically poor school
going children at Pothnal from surrounding villages. Chief Guest
Miss. Claire Isabelle student from France gave away the school bags,
books, Geometry box, pens, pencils, eraser, sharpener, uniforms and
stationery to the children in the presence of few dignitaries,
parents of the children and the local people. Addressing the
occasion, FR. Sathish Fernandes Vimukti, Director said that today’s
children are tomorrow’s leaders and hence Vimukti aims at reaching
those children who are denied of their basic right to education due
to incapacity to afford for education. Every child can be nurtured
to be a better individual if the right opportunities are provided at
the right time. Fr. Elvin Lopez Asst. Director urged the parents and
staff in charge to take care of these blooming buds as they are the
future of the nation.
Giving is the greatest act of grace. For the past 10 years, Rev. Fr.
Jossy Fernandes has been a ray of hope to these economically poor
children who are persevering in their education. “A kind gesture can
reach a wound that only compassion can heal,” says Steve Marabole.
In the same way the kind gesture of Rev. Fr. Jossy is an inspiration
to others to enkindle the darkness of these poor children with the
brightest knowledge and education. Vimukti is grateful to him for
his generosity. Santhosh, one among the beneficiary said, that he is
studying 10th year of intermediate studies just because of
‘Capuchins’ support and then thanked Vimukti for educating the
underprivileged and giving a ray of hope in their life. He expressed
joy and satisfaction and appreciated the efforts taken by Vimukti.
