Self-Protection tools to young girls and women : Vimukti Charitable Trust, Chikodi Unit

On 6th to 8th August 2026 a training programme was organized on Self Protection to Young Girls and Women in Rajiv Nagar, Chikodi. Mrs Geetha Kamble, Assistant CDPO, Chikodi; Mrs Roopa Jadhav, Head Constable, Chikodi Police Station; Mrs Pallavi Vatare, Counselor, Sakhi One Stop Centre, Chikodi were the resource persons.

The training programmes covered the important topics on the Facilities and Laws on Self-Protection for girls and women, Child Development Programmes, Protection through the Police Departments, Legal Aid, Help Lines, Sakhi One Stop Centre, and Laws pertaining to the violence and atrocities over women. The Resource Persons emphasized the need of taking the support of these help lines especially in the time of distress and problems. Mrs Geetha Kamble, Assistant CDPO, Chikodi spoke about Sakhi One Stop Centre, Child Development Programme Office, Santhwana Kendra and Police Department and their role in the self-protection of Girls and Women. Mrs Roopa Jadhav, Head Constable, Chikodi Police Station demonstrated the role of Police against attrocities and crimes against women. Mrs Roopa Jadhav asked the participants to go to the police station without any hesitation and fear. 406 women participated in the training programmes. Young girls and women are motivated to take up the positive and right decisions against the injustice, violence and the attrocities that are happening in the society.
