The Vimukti Tailoring
Centre is a focused livelihood initiative aimed at empowering poor
and marginalized women through skill development and income
generation. The program provides practical training in tailoring,
enabling women to acquire sustainable skills that support
self-employment and financial independence. Through structured
training sessions, participants learn garment stitching, basic
design techniques, machine handling, and small-scale business
management. The centre also encourages confidence-building and
self-reliance, helping women become contributors to their family
income and decision-making.
53 beneficiaries, after completing the training, have begun earning
from home-based tailoring or have taken steps toward starting small
enterprises. This initiative not only improves economic stability
but also enhances dignity and social standing within the community.
The Vimukti Tailoring Centre stands as a meaningful step towards
self-sustainability, transforming lives by equipping women with
skills, confidence, and opportunities for a better future.
