Vimukti Pothnal
organized awareness programmes across various villages in our
working area to mark National Girl Child Day from 24th January to
February 7th 2026. The programme aimed to highlight the significance
of the day and to create awareness about the importance of educating
and empowering girls for their well-being and for the overall
progress of society. Through interactive sessions with children,
parents, and community members, Vimukti emphasized that educating a
girl transforms families and communities. We stressed the
responsibility of every citizen to uphold gender equality and to
work towards a just and equitable future for girls. Special focus
was given to eliminating gender discrimination and challenging
harmful social attitudes. Families were encouraged to treat girls
and boys equally, to support girls’ education, and to create a safe
and nurturing environment where every girl can grow with dignity,
confidence, and opportunity. The programme helped strengthen
community commitment towards the protection, education, and
empowerment of the girl child. Nearly 300 girls were motivated and
inspired to become empowered women in society.
