Vimukti Charitable
Trust, Pothnal, organized an Interfaith Harmony Programme for young
men and women on Sunday, 4 January 2026, at the Vimukti Hall. The
programme began with the reading and explanation of the Preamble of
the Constitution. In his introductory remarks, Mr. Jayasheela
Dottarabandi highlighted that such interfaith initiatives help
people from different communities come together, build friendships,
and strengthen social harmony. The programme was inaugurated by Sri
Basavaraj Uchchamath Mahaswamiji, who stressed that the greatest
religion is humanity and called for equal respect for all faiths (Sarva
Dharma Samabhava). The event was presided over by Fr. Sathish
Fernandes, Director of Vimukti Charitable Trust, Pothnal, and was
graced by Maulana Muhammad Irshad Jamal from Jamia Masjid, Pothnal.
Other dignitaries included Mr. Shivappa Mestri and Mr. Sheenu Mestri.
Ms. Jessintha Muddanagudi welcomed the gathering, compered the
programme, and proposed the vote of thanks.
