A Memorandum was submitted by Child Rights Club to the Grama Panchayath PDO to provide immediate basic necessities to the school premises. Vimukti Pothnal

The Child Rights Club President and its members of Primary Higher School, Markamdinni met together in discussing the needed basic necessities and facilities in the school on February 16, 2022. All the members of the club came together in discussing the issues that were affecting the education due to the lack of facilities provided in the school. The Markamdinni school caters more than 200 children (includes1-7th std). The saddest reality of this school is being deprived of toilets, pure drinking water facilities, the dilapidated midday meal kitchen, scarcity of water to clean even their plates and hands forced them to carry their plates unwashed to home places the entire environment of the school into disgracefulness. This disgusting situation made them to voice out to the concerned department officer through the memorandum.

They said, that hereby we the Child Right Club’s President and its members appeal the Grama Panchayath PDO to take the needed action immediately in providing the basic necessities needed for the Markamdinni, Higher Primary School. They also demanded the PDO to give in writing and meet the demands at the earliest as possible. This courageous self-ignited need raised by the children was applauded by the head master, school teachers, school children, Vimukti Staff, and the village leaders.
