The Vimukti organization organized a free
Medical Health Check-up and free medicine distribution camps at Pothnal.
The objective of the camps was to provide information regarding diet,
exercise and weight control. The subjects diagnosed with hypertension or
blood pressure and diabetes or both were given free medicines and also
treated for the cough, headache, diarrhea, and vomiting. They too were
advised for the follow-up with their local doctors, or Public Health
Centers or with one of our VIMUKTI-affiliated doctors. Follow-up has
been done for those subjects who have been diagnosed with
hypertension/blood pressure and diabetes or both on a regular basis by
our trained Staff Nurse for compliance with their medications. Their
blood pressure and blood sugar are monitored on the daily basis or once
in a 15 days/month. Around 250 to 300 patients benefited from the16
villages of our working area.
