VIMUKTI, Pothnal organized free health
check-up camps in 14 surrounding villages of Pothnal. After the brief
survey at the village level, undernourished lactating mothers’, women
and children were made aware of the various benefits available at the
health centers. The need of special care at the pregnancy period, the
food intake, the precautions to be taken at the delivery time, etc.,
were explained. Free health checkup was done along with the distribution
of nutritious calcium tablets and syrups etc. For about 135 pregnant and
lactating mothers, and children participated in the camps and benefited
from these camps.
