organized Campaign on Mother and child protection. Mrs. Jecenitha and
Mr. Charlie was the resource person, who also briefed on how to continue
this campaign in near future. Campaign Meetings are held in various
villages of our working area. The target groups are pregnant women and
children of six months to the age of three years were enquired whether
they get the nutritious food at the Anganvadi centres. It was brought to
the notice at the meeting that the food allotted to the pregnant and the
children were not up to the mark though they are given every month. The
quality and the quantity always have been manipulated by the centres.
Survey was done at the 14 villages of the number of pregnant women and
the children below the age of 6 years. In 31 Anganvadi centres the list
of food allotted by the government to the pregnant women and the
children were displayed on the charts. It was insisted that this
practice of displaying must be compulsory. From time to time the people
must be made aware of the benefits by the centres. Any misappropriations
in supply of the ration, or delay in billing, getting the stock for
supply, must be brought to the notice of the officers by the people;
Time table was prepared for the common meetings to be held at the
centres. Taking into consideration of all the problems faced at all the
Anganvadi centres were summed up and with the help of three institutions
it was decided a to submit an application on the issues to the District
office by the end of the February.
