Vimukti Charitable Trust (r) Pothnal in
collaboration with Loyal, Janodaya along with likeminded NGOs from Manvi
organized International Human Rights Day, Program at Taluka panchyath
premises Manvi. In the keynote address Mr, Arogyappa, Vimukti staff,
described about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), and
said that everyone should join hands to prevent violation of human
rights. Everyone should take steps to uphold and promote the rights of
all human beings. Vimukti Organization Works for “Creating justice to
victims of injustice, human rights, freedom, equality, fraternity,
peace, harmony, ecological and climate justice, liberation from the ill
effects of liberalization; building good families and human communities,
preserving cultural and religious traditions.
The Resource Person explained that the Indian Constitution guarantees
Fundamental Rights to all its citizens like Right to Equality, Right to
Freedom, Right against Exploitation, Right to Freedom of Religion,
Cultural and Educational Rights and Right to Constitutional Remedies.
The Resource Person continued that Human Rights as enshrined in the
Indian Constitution are generally defined as the rights which every
human being is entitled to enjoy can be found in the Preamble of the
Constitution of India. After the session gathered women appealed the
authority through the memorandum to give right protection to our
children and women in the villages. two hundred and fifty women
participated attentively and raise the questions and said that they
would protect their village from child labour, child marriage and human
trafficking. On the whole the program was very positive and ended with
positive note.
