VIMUKTI organized summer camp to all
our club and parliament children of our villages. The main intention
of this program was to get numerous opportunities to the children to
grow and learn new things. Various sessions on life skills,
awareness on health and hygiene, training on good manners,
information on moral values, child rights, and leadership and other
activities like ice breaking sessions, outdoor games, etc were part
of the summer camp. More than half of the inhabitants of the rapidly
growing cities and the rural villages consist of children. In most
situations they are deprived of support, guidance and education. Our
focus was on the most vulnerable group, that is, children who fall
into the problematic categories such as child laborers, street
children, school dropouts, orphans, and children living in risky
conditions, children and youth from dysfunctional families and
disadvantaged communities, children affected/infected by HIV/AIDS
and children in conflict with the law.
VCT has, invested in programmes aimed at providing shelter, support
and education to ensure the welfare of children and Youth. The
project implemented form underpinning to build self-confidence and
instill hope in the lives of these children and youth. Children in
vulnerable environment have begun to enjoy the right to care,
protection and education. Thus they confidently assert their rights
and voice their views on critical issues affecting them and their
peers
