Vimukti Pothnal organized Summer Camp
from november 10th to 13th , 2019 at Devipura . Mr. kriyappa, GP
president, Mr. Sharanappa and Mr. charile, jecintha, Pothnal, Child
representatives from Tuition centers and para teachers, parliament
Leaders inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Children
were taught action songs, finger print art, making puppets, crafts,
morals, values, good qualities in life, leadership, through stories,
using the writing board, puzzles, word building, etc. Mr. Jaysheela,
facilitated the session on Child Rights Violation. Mr. Arogyappa,
vimukti staff facilitated a session on Self-awareness, goal setting
and adolescence, gender equity for Adolescent girls. Mrs. Jecnitha
vimukti staff facilitated session on Waste Management. Disadvantages
of Plastic, types of waste, importance of bifurcating waste and
recycling of waste were briefed. Fr. Sathish Feranandes, Project
Director, facilitated a session on Child Protection Mechanisms and
Sustainable Development Goals and Advocacy actions. Health awareness
and eye camp were conducted in collaboration with PHC Health
department. Craft session was facilitated by Mr. Basappa Sindhanoor.
The Valedictory programme saw the presence of Fr. Sathish Fernandes,
Director, VIMUKTI Pothnal, Arogya Mary and Ms. Devi, Child
Representatives. Fr. Sathish Fernandes thanked all the persons who
worked for the success of the camp. Fr. Sathish Fernandes,
addressing the gathering, appreciated the Vimukti team for
organizing the camp successfully. Seventy-seven boys and seventy
girls from nine communities were present and participated; and got
benefited from this camp.
