“A smile happens in a flash, but
its memory can last for a lifetime.
Vimukti Charitable Trust Pothnal takes initiative every year to help
economically poor semi orphan, deserving children and encouraged
them not to dropout from the school by distributing free note books,
pencils, pen and other materials to the 21 surrounding village of
Manvi Taluka. The aim is to BRING SMILES to these little children as
they take their next leap in learning. We all have experienced the
joy of having a new school bag, books, pencils and crayons on first
day of school. With the 'School Kit' program we hope to create that
'moment of smile' for the underprivileged children in the society.
Chief Guest Rev Fr. Deepak Fernandes gave away the school bags,
books, uniforms and stationery to the children in the presence of
few dignitaries, parents of the children and the local people.
Addressing the occasion, Rev. Fr. Vejiesh loyed Menezes program
President said that today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders and
hence Vimukti aims at reaching those children who are denied of
their basic right to education due to incapacity to afford for
education. Every child can be nurtured to be a better individual if
the right opportunities are provided at the right time. He urged the
parents and staff in charge to take care of these blooming buds as
they are the future of the nation.
Fr. Joel Lobo Clara Vihar superior said, “EDUCATION IS THE BEST
FRIEND. AN EDUCATED PERSON IS RESPECTED EVERYWHERE. EDUCATION BEATS
THE BEAUTY AND YOUTH”. In order to empower every child with
education, Vimukti started to provide educational aids to children
from economically weaker sections of the society. Fr. Sathish
Fernandes expressed saying, providing these basic facilities
encouraged the children to study well, motivate the parents to
support the children in their education. The realization of the
project enabled Vimukti to contribute substantially to achieve the
goal of universal education in northern part of Karnataka state.
