The Vimukti charitable trust® has been
implementing the project “HELATH FOR ALL” in 18 villages in the
three blocks of Gram Panchyath of our project area on 7th of
December at Thorandini Primary Health Center. The VCT project team
organized a rally to mark the World AIDS Day, nearly 62 ASHA workers
and ANMs participants including community members, Village Health
workers, Doctors, BHO and staff of VCT participated in the rally.
Dr. Ballappa, Block Health officer, was the Chief Guest and he
flagged off the rally. The rally started from PHC center to the
town. ASH workers and ANMs holding placards shouted slogans on
HIV/AIDS during the rally. The rally covered main streets of
Thorandinni town, Headquarters sending messages through the public
address system to create awareness on HIV/AIDS.
At the end of the rally, a public meeting was organized. Fr. Sathish
Fernandes, Director gave an introduction about VCT and the
functioning of HEALTH FOR ALL PROJECT. Then the Chief Guest and
other guests gave brief speeches on HIV/AIDS. Later prizes and
certificates were distributed to ASHA workers who participated in
Essay and Slogan Competitions on HIV/AIDS.
