CHILDLINE Raihcur organized Child
Rights Rally on the occasions of international Child Rights Day on
20th November 2018, to create awareness on children’s rights in the
public. Mr. Malikarjuna, CRP, inaugurated the rally. Mr. Basva raj,
Assit Teacher flagged it off which passed through the heart of the
town and ended at School premises. School Children parliament and
club children actively took part in the rally. Fr. Sathish Fernandes
CWC member Raichur said, “Love, childhood, education and protection
are the birth rights of all children.” Millions of children have no
access to education; works long hours under harardous conditions and
are force to child labour and child dropout. Young and immature,
they are often easily exploited. In many cases, they are abused by
the very individuals responsible for their care. It’s every
individual’s duty and responsibility to help and protect children
from harm.
After interaction with the children Mrs. Rekha Navalli head
mistress, spoke about children rights, to create awareness on
adverse impact of child marriage, Child Sexual abuse, child line
1098, child dropout, Child trafficking, Child labor, RTF, protection
of earth, health-hygiene and cleanliness etc., in the society. The
session was well interactive and though provoking. The underlying
message of the training was to take collective responsibility in
protecting the rights of children.
Further Mr. Arogyappa GP President said “Children deserve to be
heard. The care and protection of children is everyone’s
responsibility”, and he stressed on the importance of helpline and
explained the mechanism behind the helpline system. Mr. Charlie
Vimukti coordinator said that everyone should join hands for the
cause of children in need and refer them to CHILDINE 1098.nearly 379
children benefited from this program.
