On 15, November 2018 Open House
programme was conducted by the CHILD LINE 1098, Raichur in the
Higher Primary School which comes under Kalmala Gram panchayat. The
programme witnessed by Mrs. Mangala Hegde, the president of Child
Welfare Committee(CWC), Raichur, Fr. Sathish Fernandes, the member
of CWC, Gram Panchayat Secretary, Rupasingh and the staff. Along
with them Education and Tax Department Officers, Staff of Police
Department, Asha animators, Health Department officers, Anganwadi
Animators, The heads of the Schools and staff, SDMC members
participated in the programme. In his introductory talk Fr. Sathish
Fernandes stressed on the purpose of the open house programme and
urging children and those closely connected with children to make
the best use of the CHILD LINE 1098 and to get required facilities
for their schools and villages. There after the Chief Guest Mrs.
Mangala Hegde said that there is Child Welfare Committee to cater
the needs of the children in conflicts from the age 0 to 18 years
who can get the benefit provided by the Government. She also
explained about many of the laws and acts namely POCSO Act, 2012,
Child Justice Act that provides great care and protection of the
children in such cases. The children openly shared their problems
they face at school with regard to the lack of school ground, sports
articles, insufficient number of teachers, and other facilities. The
officers in charge gave assurance to take right actions as soon as
possible. With the thanking note by a staff of CHILD LINE 1098,
programme saw its end.
