Vimukti believes that human rights and
human development share a common vision and a common purpose.in
order to create public awareness regarding right based approach and
to have proper understanding of Various Government Schemes and the
impediments in taping those schemes. Vimukti Pothnal joined hand
with a team of NGOs in Karnataka and organized a state level public
hearing programme on 28th of August, 2018 at St. Joseph institute
Bangaluru. In this programme state level concerned Ministers and
government officials were present to hear those problems. 16 NGOs
partners from north Karnataka along with local village leaders’
representatives were present for this programme. A number of
problems were raised regarding Right to Food, health, hygiene,
sanitation, toilets, proper AWC structures, supply of nutrition food
to the adolescent girls, scarcity of teachers in the schools, proper
implementation of Mathru purna yojene, quality education, supply of
middy meals, dropout survey, proper distribution of ration, Alcohol
ban in the villages, proper implementation of NREGA scheme, various
facilities to the Devdasi women and other related issues were raised
and clarified. The NGO representatives from various organization
submitted the memorandum concerned authority and requested them to
look into the matter very seriously without fail. Government
officials and ministers, who were present for the program, assured
their whole hearted support in sorting out the issues by meeting
with concerned authority. Nearly 389 women and men from various
organizations were present for this function and benefited from this
programme
