Vimukti charitable trust®, Pothnal in
collaboration with ENSEMBLE AGISSONS, France organized the
valedictory function to all the training beneficiaries on 21st of
July 2018. The key problem in all our target villages was
unemployment. The primary objective of this programme is to create
employment opportunities for disadvantaged adolescent girls and
women/widows in rural areas at an early age by providing training in
tailoring skills and a sewing machine. In our project locations many
of the poor women, widows & girls are idle without doing any work
and some of them are working as daily wage labourers migrating to
some other towns and cities by leaving their children and elder
parents at home. Even though they have desire to learn fashion
designing skills, due to lack of resources they are idle at homes
and depending on some other persons in the families.
VIMUKTI have been conducting skill development vocational trainings
to the destitute women & girls in around Pothnal surrounding
villages since 2009. As per the request of the women and girls VCT
have been identified 100 women & girls age group between 16 to
35years per batch for 6 months. This is ongoing initiative we almost
cover 100 members in a year in the field of skills training. After
this training program we are providing completion certificate, which
is useful for their future to avail the loans from banks and other
financial institutions. With this training program, some of the
women have been established self-employment units. With these
vocations they are able to earn Rs.5000 income for their family
needs and children education. We are continuously providing escort
services to these women to avail loans or seed funding from
financial institutions to start small micro enterprises. 100
beneficiaries benefited from this program. Recently media recognized
our good work of the organization as a result published the article
on vocational training and its impact in the villages.
