As a part of our efforts to make basic
healthcare accessible for all, Vimukti Charitable Trust®, Pothnal
with the support of Ensemble Agissons France conducted free health
camps in villages, providing succor to over 250 people. Many of
these villages have no healthcare facilities or even a qualified
healthcare worker. Monthly free medical camps are being conducted
specifically for pregnant women with active participation by staff
nurse and support staff from Pothnal hospital.
The objective of the camp was to provide information regarding diet,
exercise and weight control. Free medicines have been provided to
subjects who were diagnosed with HTN and or DM and advised them to
follow up with their local doctors or Public Health Centers. Follow
up has been done with those patients who have been diagnosed with
HTN or DM on a regular basis by our staff nurse with their
medications and ascertain that their blood pressure and/or blood
sugar are controlled. People are very positive regarding this camp
and 214 people have been benefited from these camps.
