On 11th February 2018 Vimukti
celebrated children fest at its premises. 16 Government school
parliament children and staff spent their time and energy in
preparing varieties of dance and music programs. 762 children
participated in this colorful event. Vimukti organized this program
this year in a more creative and unique way. The students took out
rally through the main streets of Pothnal by holding placards and
banners containing the message on the needs of protecting the
rights, to create awareness on adverse impact of child marriage,
child dropout, Child trafficking, Child labor, RTF, protection of
earth, health-hygiene and cleanliness etc., in the society; and
demanded the concerned officials to take stringent measures in this
regard to impose fine on those who violate these laws.
The main aim of the rally was to sensitize privileged citizens to
protect children rights and empower them with the power of
education. The participants, after marching through the main road of
Pothnal conversed with the local press media where child right
activist spoke to them. After public speech staff distributed the
hand bills and posters stating “MY HOUSE IS CHILD LABOUR, CHILD
TRAFFIKING CHILD MARRIAGE FREE….” All the Vimukti children according
to the best of their abilities performed various dances. This rally
garnered support from all sections of the society. Also our village
children danced for the patriotic song.
Our ‘together act’ project Members Mrs. Veronique was the President
for the program, and Mrs. Clementine, Mrs. Alix from France, were
the chief guest for the program and witness the program being
performed on the stage along with other dignitaries. Listening to
the inspiring words from the chief guest the people were stunned.
Vimukti made this event more educative to the children as well as
for the public. Parents and especially the dignitaries on the dais
lauded the innovative experiment of making the day entertaining and
educative one. Indeed it was fabulous program as we got the feedback
from the gathering who appreciated it very much.
